Glyfada gives lead away, but defends lead in Greece |

The top match of the Greek Women´s National League ended with a tie, but ANC Glyfada is now pretty close to the first place in the regular season. The two-time European Champions cup winner from Athens achieved a precious 4-4 (2-1, 2-0, 0-1, 0-2) tie in the difficult away match against the reigning champions of Vouliagmeni NC and defended a two-point lead in the table. Vouligameni´s Antigoni Roumpesi and Glyfada´s Aikaterini Oikonomopoulou scored two goals each for their teams.
Glyfada even missed a victory in the crucial match which was dominated the by defence lines. The guests took a 2-0 lead in the first period after goals by Oikonomopoulou and German international Nina Wengst. Kyriaki Liosi still scored the first goal for Vouliagemeni before the first break, but the home team was to remain scoreless for the remainder of the first half. Oikonomopoulou and Kazakhstan international Marina Gritsenko scored two more goals for the current leader, bringing the score to 4-1 until halftime.
Vouligameni´s Antigoni Roumpesi scored the only goal of the third period, keeping her club in the race for the victory. In the final period Glyfada missed the one and only man-up chance, while the home team netted the ball in both situations. Roumpesi and Angeliki Gerolymou scored each and still saved a 4-4 tie. Glyfada missed the thinkable victory by a scoreless second half, but it could be enough to defend the first place in the four remaining matches.
