Scandone revisited: Naples to host European Final Four |

For the fourth time in a row the European Final Four with the top teams of the EuroLeague will be held without local heroes. The 14th edition will be held at Naples, Italy, taking place 14-15 May the at famous Scandone indoor-pool. This was announced by the LEN today only two days after the quarter-final draws.
In response to LEN’s bidding request for this year’s edition, the city of Naples, the club of Pro Recco and the Italian Swimming Federation confirmed their interest in staging the event at the famous venue again. Naples will be the hosting city for the fourth time since the introduction of the Final Four competition formula in 1997.
The local heroes of CN Posillipo who took the trophy in 2005 in the same pool will be absent this year due to their early knock-out in the second-round tournament. The same happened at the three previous events in Milan, Ital in 2007, at Barcelona, Spain one year later and last year in Rijeka, Croatia.
Once more the participants of the 2010 Final Four will be the winners of the upcoming quarter-final clashes to be played on home and away basis on 24 March and 14 April according to the results of last Monday´s draws in Rome, Italy.
