Seventh Central Coast Section win for Sacred Heart

Nothing was lucky about number seven for Sacred Heart Prep Atherton girls water polo squad. Top seeded Gators fleshed out their bequest in the pool with a 7th back-to-back Central Coast Section Div. II title following a 14 – 7 win over number three Castilleja Palo Alto at Santa Clara International Swim Center earlier on Saturday.

According to reports, Jon Burke, the coach of Sacred Heart Prep Atherton girls, told that the smiles are the same each year, and it is about the girls. For them, each one of these is different. The coaches would be there, but these girls are going to change. And for them, the Central Coast Section championship winning experience of is something they would probably never forget.

The winning was made even greater by the performance of Maddy Johnston, who got the back of the cage 7 times in her very first Central Coast Section finals. And this could have been more, but Maddy was subbed out in the middle through the 2nd quarter after pulling her 5thgoal and saw confined action the rest of the path as Sacred Heart Prep led 10 – 2 at the halftime.

Burke told that Maddy Johnston was on fire, they never had an athlete in 7 years score 7 goals in a Central Coast Section championship. And to do that as a freshman is very impressive. Another player told that it is really an amazing feeling to win the Central Coast Section championship.
